Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons arrowroot starch
  • 2 cups condensed coconut milk
  • 2 cups full-fat coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 4 tablespoons activated charcoal powder

Instructions

  1. First, freeze the ice cream freezer bowl for at least 9 hours.
  2. Prepare a medium-size saucepan. Then mix charcoal, cacao powder, milk, condensed milk, starch, honey, and vanilla extract on medium-low heat. (Note: Don’t allow this mixture to come to a boil.)
  3. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Cover the bowl and put it in the fridge for at least 1 hour before you make the ice cream.
  4. Assemble your ice cream maker. Turn on the rotating freezer bowl.
  5. Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl. Then allow it to churn for about 15 to 20 minutes (or until it reaches your desired consistency).
  6. Scoop and serve with your favorite toppings.
